Sydney Programmer for Hire

Quick Update

10 February 2010

Terrible I know, but I've been deliberately neglecting this site in an effort to actually dissuade customers!?!

2009 was busy, busy, busy!

Too much work is a good thing, right? So keep sending them through, because I've managed to gather together a few reliable contacts to whom I pass leads onto. So if I can't do your project maybe they can.

Or maybe your project is one I'm keen to make time for ;-)

Fervr goes Live

5 April 2009

The programmer has been busy. Very busy. Who'd think that creating a three page website could have such an impact?! Of course it was done right; and the programmer has been getting a steady stream of work from Sydney locals desperate for someone with both the skills and a friendly attitude they can rely on. This is just one of my recent gigs.

fervr.net publishes articles and media for Christian youth in Australia. Youthworks approached the programmerforhire to apply an entirely new look and feel for their official launch as their programmer was moving on and Django/Python guru's just can't be found in this city: high or low.

Well with only a little previous Python experience, the programmer stepped up to the task and rebuilt the front end just in time for the big day. If you need a designer Jordan's your man.

Email Campaign Success

12 March 2009

Big Screen Promotions approached the programmerforhire with an email marketing campaign to reach councils, community groups, and schools across New South Wales and Queensland. They came to the right place!

The programmer set up BigScreenPromotions with the tools to

  1. import and manage the email lists - by themselves
  2. change the text of the email and test until it is 'just right' - by themselves
  3. fire off the campaign to their lists - by themselves
  4. get detailed reports revealing every angle of the campaign: how many people saw the email, who was most interested, when they saw the email, which email addresses weren't valid, and much more. All by themselves of course.

Do you see the pattern there?

The programmerforhire wants to empower you to be able to do your work without him. It's not about making you dependant upon him; but giving you the tools to get it done by yourself. BigScreensPromotions are now set up to run their own email campaigns - you guessed it - by themselves.

And the results? Of the two test runs 39% of recipients are positively confirmed to have opened the email; they're just the ones we know about. Of those 19% have clicked through to the BigScreenPromotions website. Not one email was reported as spam.

Here's a snapshot of just a couple of the reports available. This one charts when the emails were opened: that afternoon and at the start of business the next day. The pie shows how many are known to be opened, unopened, or failed to reach their target. The recipient's report below shows BigScreenPromotions exactly who might like a follow-up call. Now that's empowerment!
